Where art and hospitality meet

Level 1 — Basic

Our service is defined by warm, highly personalized boutique hospitality. Our standards support genuine care that adapts to each guest, whether they are traveling for leisure, rest, gastronomy, business, or celebration.

Gastronomy is an essential part of our experience. Our properties feature spaces with their own distinct personality, such as La Plaza at Hotel Mama Cuchara, Sarance at Hotel Otavalo, Cúpulas Azules at Hotel Cruz del Vado, and Ballet del Río at Hotel Río Guayas. Each one is designed to express the richness of contemporary Ecuadorian cuisine through local products, the surrounding environment, and the narrative of each place.

The terraces at Art Hotels Ecuador are stages for experience. From El Santo que da Marido in Quito, with panoramic views of the Historic Center, to Cúpulas Azules in Cuenca, Ñukanchikwan Taki in Otavalo, and Numa at Río Guayas, each terrace combines signature cocktails, atmosphere, views, and a true sense of place.

We offer a luxury boutique hotel experience where every detail is designed to connect guests with the destination. This includes rooms with design and personality, attentive service, local gastronomy, terraces with identity, and spaces ideal for rest, celebration, or inspiration.

ART HOTELS ECUADOR

Level 2 — Intermediate

Level 3 — Advanced

Among its most recent milestones, in 2026 Art Hotels Ecuador won the Boutique Hotel category at the LATA Excellence Awards for the second consecutive year. That same year, ARTHOTELES Ecuador S.A. obtained B Corp certification with an impact score of 90.1, in recognition of its social, environmental, and business performance.

In 2025, the collection received two awards at the LATA Excellence Awards: Boutique Hotel and Product Launch, the latter for the opening of Hotel Río Guayas in Las Peñas, Guayaquil. In addition, Hotel Otavalo received One MICHELIN Key, while Hotel Cruz del Vado was included in the MICHELIN Guide hotel selection. Hotel Mama Cuchara was also recognized as Best Wedding Venue Hotel in Ecuador at the Latin American Wedding Awards.

That year, Cúpulas Azules, the restaurant at Hotel Cruz del Vado, received the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice 2025 recognition.

In 2024, Art Hotels Ecuador received the Silver Award at the LATA Responsible Tourism Awards for its Micro Entrepreneurs program, which integrates artisans, producers, and local entrepreneurs into the travel experience and the tourism value chain. During that same year, Hotel Mama Cuchara and Hotel Cruz del Vado also achieved TourCert Qualified status, linked to responsible management and continuous improvement in sustainability.

The collection’s trajectory also includes other important milestones. Hotel Otavalo received Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice recognition in 2022, while Hotel Mama Cuchara received Travelers’ Choice in 2020. In 2019, Hotel Mama Cuchara achieved Green Globe certification and was presented as the first hotel property certified by this organization in Ecuador.

The collection has also been present in international luxury travel spaces and communities such as EMOTIONS, Serandipians, and Remote Immersion, as well as in travel products available through Virtuoso.

We understand sustainability as a real and cross-cutting practice. For Art Hotels Ecuador, this means preserving architectural heritage, working with local communities, reducing environmental impact, strengthening suppliers, and giving value to Ecuadorian culture. We do not see luxury and sustainability as opposites, but as part of the same vision for the future.

Hotel Mama Cuchara was born from the restoration of an old Spanish-colonial-style house in the historic heart of Quito. Its concept combines the charm of a historic hotel, the intimacy of a luxury boutique hotel, and a contemporary experience shaped by its restaurant La Plaza and its terrace El Santo que da Marido, with a privileged view of colonial Quito.

Hotel Otavalo occupies one of the oldest buildings in the city. Its original construction dates back to 1930, was promoted by Elías Endara, and after its restoration, it reopened in 2018 as a benchmark for luxury boutique hospitality in northern Ecuador. Its identity connects heritage architecture, Otavalo tradition, gastronomy, and a contemporary vision of cultural luxury.

Hotel Cruz del Vado is located in one of Cuenca’s oldest neighborhoods, next to the monument that gives it its name. The property holds strong heritage value: it was known as the former “Palacio de El Mercurio,” integrates traditional and modern restoration techniques, and its terrace restaurant Cúpulas Azules has become one of the city’s most distinctive spaces.

More Than a Hotel, an Experience

Level 4 — Expert

Hotel Río Guayas marks an important evolution for the brand. Located in Las Peñas, Guayaquil’s most historic and symbolic neighborhood, the hotel offers an interpretation of urban heritage and coastal luxury. It is a property that reaffirms Art Hotels Ecuador’s vision of creating experiences with art, history, gastronomy, service, and a sense of destination in places of deep cultural value.

Art Hotels Ecuador integrates these elements through a form of hospitality that respects the identity of each destination. The collection recovers and restores historic buildings, preserves their original architecture, and gives them new life through design, gastronomy, and warm, personalized service.

This commitment also involves people. Each hotel connects with neighborhoods, artists, cooks, artisans, producers, and local entrepreneurs, creating opportunities for collaboration and bringing guests closer to Ecuador’s living culture in an authentic way.

This model reflects the values of Art Hotels Ecuador: human hospitality, respect for heritage, living culture, consistent excellence, gastronomy with identity, and responsible sustainability. It also supports the process initiated to achieve B Corp certification, incorporating social and environmental standards, impact measurement, and accountability.

Luxury is expressed through service quality, attention to detail, and the ability to generate lasting value for guests, communities, and the territories where the collection operates.

Yes. One of Art Hotels Ecuador’s greatest differentiators is the possibility of creating tailored proposals for weddings, private events, executive meetings, special dinners, or corporate experiences. If you are looking for a venue with identity, gastronomy, design, and luxury service, the best option is to contact us directly so we can recommend the ideal property and format according to the number of guests, the city, and the style of your event.

It depends on the experience you want to have.
